FAQ
Which API URL should I use?
Most OpenAI-compatible clients and SDKs use:
https://sprelaytoken.com/v1Claude and Gemini native SDKs generally use the site root:
https://sprelaytoken.comThese are base URLs, not interchangeable complete endpoints. See Authentication and URLs.
Where do model names come from?
Use the Model Catalog for groups and prices, then GET /v1/models for exact IDs visible to the current key. Avoid static lists from old tutorials.
Why does a request fail when the account has funds?
Check whether the key is enabled, unexpired, within quota, allowed to use the model and IP, and assigned to a group that currently supports the model.
Should a client use the root domain or /v1?
Look at the field's example and whether the client appends a path. An OpenAI Base URL usually includes /v1; a Claude base URL uses the root domain. See OpenAI-Compatible Clients.
Can I put a key in a web page?
No. Visitors and browser tools can extract it. Store the key in your authenticated backend and enforce per-user limits there.
What should I do first when a request fails?
- Run the minimal request.
- Check whether a usage log exists.
- Follow the API error guide for its status.
- Debug the client only after curl succeeds.
